Work has begun on Emergency Medical Station 8, a new emergency response facility for Charleston County EMS on Highway 174 in Edisto. This new facility will be 5x the size of the previous facility and named in honor of former District 8 councilwoman Anna B. Johnson.
We celebrated with Charleston County Government officials and members of the community at a groundbreaking ceremony on March 13th led by current District 8 Councilman Joe Boykin. This new 5,000 SF facility will feature a shared office space for EMS & the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office, a fitness room, kitchen, bunk beds, laundry area, and an open bay garage that can accommodate four ambulances.
