Hill Construction is proud to announce that it has been awarded the Charleston County School District (CCSD) 2024 “E” Award, recognizing excellence in the construction of educational facilities. The award honors Hill’s exceptional performance on the Carolina Park Classroom Addition project, completed under tight deadlines and challenging design modifications.
In a letter of commendation, CCSD Chief Operating Officer Jeffrey Borowy, P.E., praised Hill Construction for its quick responsiveness, professionalism, and ability to adapt mid-project to a major design shift—from a one-story to a two-story structure.
“Your team’s dedication to detail, responsiveness, and commitment to excellence were instrumental in ensuring the project was ready for the August 2024 school opening, ahead of the revised contract date of October 2024,” Borowy stated. “Hill Construction is truly deserving of the Capital Programs 2024 Construction ‘E’ Award.”
The “E” Award continues a tradition inspired by the historic Army-Navy “E” Award from World War II, which recognized companies demonstrating exceptional production capabilities. Today, the CCSD “E” Award is presented to firms that go above and beyond in delivering high-quality learning environments for students and educators.

The Carolina Park project was delivered through a Design-Build partnership, with Hill Construction leading the effort in collaboration with Glick/Boehm & Associates (GBA) and Seamon Whiteside Associates (SW+), in coordination with Cumming Group.
