Named Best College Facility of the Year in 2004 by the U.S. Tennis Association. This 9-court tennis facility has hard and clay surfaces, pro tournament-caliber lighting, electronic scoreboards for each court, elevated cement terraces and a 3,000 square foot clubhouse. The clubhouse features masonry and a shingle on metal truss roof. The facility had a challenging sitework package, as the existing conditions were unsuitable soils. There was significant muck and fill of the site, soil stabilization and settlement prevention techniques utilized. All of this work had to be completed to establish a building pad.
“The nine-court facility, indeed, is a showpiece. While the Family Circle Tennis Center is world class, the C of C Tennis Center is certainly a national-class facility.” --James Beck, Sports writer, The Post and Courier
